Casio Speedmaster Edifice EF 503 Battery Went 4 years

Today one of our clients brought his Casio Speedmaster EF 503, Edifice Series,  to replace its battery. While opening the watch he told me that he had changed its battery from us and that he was satisfied. I asked him, how long was the battery life and he told me that it went 4 years.  The Casio EF 503 movement uses the SR927W/SW (or 399/395) battery.

We had previously replace its battery with a SR927 SONY battery. This battery is not expensive and hence a good solution for the watch if goes four years each time. I haven’t tried other brand of batteries in the watch though but most watchmakers will tell you that the battery’s life would be a year minimum.

This watch model was launched in 2011 and won the heart of many watch lovers, since it is a stainless steel chronograph fine watch which is sold at a very affordable price. The white hour and minute hands with the red second hand looks very striking on the black face. The watch also features a date window and a 12-hour registry stopwatch, and all of that is sealed by a protective mineral crystal window. The stainless steel bracelet has a fold-over clasp closure with is very easy to use. On top of that, the back case is sealed with a screw-lock which make the watch water resistant for up to 330 feet, which is suitable for swimming and snorkeling.

The Casio Speedmaster EF 503 resemble a lot to the Omega Speedmaster Professional which is an expensive mechanical watch. However, on the Casio Speedmaster EF 503 there is a date display at the 3 o’clock hour hand. Many people find the Casio Speedmaster EF 503 to be a great alternative watch to the Omega Speedmaster Professional. It is said that this Omega watch is a replica of the first watch worn on the moon. That’s why it came with a NASA logo engraved on its back.
